Build Services

At Tiger's Den Hobbies, we understand that not everyone is a modeller. We also understand that some modelers do not have the time or patience they'd like to dedicate to a project. We're here to help. Tiger's Den can tailor-build any automotive model project to your needs.

The advantages to this service are many.
  • In order to get any reasonable amount of detail in a pre-built diecast model, one needs to spend $150 CDN or more. Our builds range from $60-75 (not including paint/glue and the kit) so they are significantly less expensive.
  • Lower cost diecasts typically have no undercarriage or engine bay detail. Plastic model kits have significantly more detail, and many custom details can be added, such as plug wires, battery cables, and brake lines.
  • Our model builds range anywhere from box-stock to fully custom, depending on the client's needs. This includes aftermarket parts and wheels, custom paint jobs, interior flocking and decals.
  • Pre-built cars have a limited variety of model selection and colours. There is a much greater variety of plastic model kits, and many can be built into other TYPES of cars (for example, a Caprice can be made from an Impala SS kit.) As for colours, the sky's the limit!

Our Build Service is ideal for automotive enthusiasts who've always wanted that model of their favourite car, or a model of their own car! Check out the results from some of our work, and what the clients have to say:

Steve Cole - 1998 Pontiac Firebird Formula WS6

the real version

"Great job modifying the stock model to match my Formula; Pontiac didn't make many solid-roofed Firebirds, and the model was designed with T-Tops. Top work."

Brad Hodge - 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbocoupe

the real version WITH the 1:24 version!

I'm very pleased with my Turbocoupe -- very faithful to the real thing, right down to the interior colours! He is a stickler for details, and that's a good thing!

The model pictured above with the 1:1 version!

Jaime Morrissette - 1983 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

the real version

"extremely impressed, excellent attention to detail, cant wait to get another!! thanks!"
